Glen Sedrick was elected mayor of Qulin today.

Otto Griffin  and J.D. Benton have signed up to run in Qulin’s Ward 2 for the April 6 election.

Long-time Qulin resident, Melvin Bruce, passed away this morning at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Funeral arrangements are still pending with White-Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin.

Melvin was one of the founding fathers of the Qulin Lions Club among many other tributes that can be given to him. He was a great friend and always worked to promote and better Qulin for the whole community.

The Qulin Kids Crusade Christmas Party will be on Saturday December 19,2009 from 6:00pm – ( whenever we get tired LOL) at the Qulin Lion’s Club. This Party is Only for Qulin kids and is by invitation only! So Please if you live inside the City Limits of Qulin and have a child that is 12 years old or younger please contact Margaret McDonald at 429-7311 or 328-4488! We do not want to leave anyone out!
 
The Party will be hosted by Santa’s Elves and consist of Chili dogs and Nachos, cake, drinks, games, music , door prizes and an appearance by the “Jolly Ol’ Elf”
 
ALL Children must be accompanied and supervised by at least one parent. Chief Art Fisher will provide security for the Party to make sure all remain safe.
 
We hope all the Kids of Qulin will attend as we would like to make this an annual event. Join us in celebration the Birth of Jesus Christ and a celebration of Family. Thank you and Happy Holidays from the “Kids of Qulin Crusaders”
